After you log in to your InfusionSoft application, go to the menu icon next to the InfusionSoft logo at the top left of your screen, and go to CRM >> Contacts. You will see the list of contacts within your database.

From there, click on the checkbox located next to the total number of results, to select all the contacts in the list. To read more, go here for honest review posts.

Then go to Actions >> Export. On the next screen, scroll all the way down and click on the Export button.

Note: If you don’t want to export all the fields within the database, uncheck the first checkbox at the top, and then just select the fields that you want to export.

In the example I showed in the video, I selected the fields for ID, First Name, Last Name, Telephone Number and Email Address. Then, scroll down and click on the Export button.

Once the process is completed, a CSV file containing all the data will be automatically downloaded to your computer.

That’s it. That’s how you export your contacts from your InfusionSoft application.

Additional options:

InfusionSoft has a feature that allows you to save the exported fields for future exports. This is how you do it and to promote the content use this site to get a better engagement and have better results.

Once you land to the Export Results page from a contact search, uncheck all the fields, and select the ones that you want to export (just like we did in the previous example), but this time we’re going to save that criteria.

In order to do that, scroll all the way down to where it says Save Export Field Selections, and on the text field right below it, enter a name for the criteria you want to save.

Check the Make settings available to all users option to make it global so all the users within your InfusionSoft app can see it. Or leave it unchecked so it’s available only for your user account.

Then click on the Export button.

After the process is completed, the CSV file will be exported and the criteria will be available for future exports.

You will find it listed on the Load Saved Export Field Selections area on the Export Results page.

This is very useful if you are frequently exporting data. It will save you a considerable amount of time.

In this “InfusionSoft Basics” series of tutorials I will be covering everything I can think of about the basic tasks and operations of this great tool that will help you set the foundation to develop and grow your InfusionSoft skills.

We all know the importance of keeping a solid, healthy list of contacts. There are different ways to add contact records to your InfusionSoft database, but this time I will specifically show you how to import contacts from a CSV file.

Before we get started, I want to show you how CSV file looks like, probably most of you know how a CSV file looks like but for those who doesn’t let me show you.

A CSV file is just a document that handles data in a spreadsheet.

The one I show in the video is the one I use as a sample, and you could probably get something like that if you export your list of emails from your email client, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, MailChimp, Constant Contact or any other. Or you can simply open up a blank spreadsheet on your computer and start building it from scratch by adding your contacts manually.

Whichever method you use, you will probably end up with something like this: A table with different columns, such as first name, last name, company, phone number, email address, city, state, zip code, country, and so on.

If you don’t have that much data from your contacts. At the very least, I would suggest that you have the first name, last name and email address, with that you will be perfectly good to go and import your CSV file into your InfusionSoft app. Even if you have only one column with email address, InfusionSoft will allow you to import and create records from a CSV file.

Once we have our CSV file, located, and with all the information needed. We’re going to proceed on importing your contacts to your InfusionSoft app.

After you log in, you’re going to land on your dashboard. Click on the menu button next to the logo on the top left screen of your InfusionSoft application.

Then go to Admin >> Import Data, and click on it. Since I mentioned at the beginning that this tutorial is for how to import contacts from a CSV file, we’re going to skip all the other the options.

Select all the contacts from the drop down and click on the Go button. Then, click on the Browse button, locate our CSV file (note that if you have any other type of file like an Excel spreadsheet file or any other, InfusionSoft will not read it. It has to be a CSV file), Then, after selecting the CSV file, click on Open.

And then click on the Next button.

You will notice that InfusionSoft tries to read the spreadsheet and tries to match each of the columns in the spreadsheet, for example, the first name, last name, company, phone number and email address are all recognized automatically, but InfusionSoft may have a little bit of an issue trying to locate other fields.

This is easily fixed by clicking on the arrow next to the drop down, and to find the field that it corresponds to.

After selecting the corresponding fields, click on the Next button. Once all the arrows are green, it means that all the fields match. So click the Next button.

On the next screen, InfusionSoft will give you the opportunity to correct if any of the countries are not synced properly to the preset countries on their database.

After verifying that it all looks good, click on the Next button.

Then confirm that you have permission to send marketing emails to these contacts by clicking on the Yes button, and then click Next.

After completing all these steps, click on Done button.

The process of importing all the data from your CSV file will begin.
